Bill Cosby is one funny man that I’ve really grown to respect over the years.   I remember seeing him live back in my college days and he had the crowd in stitches the whole night.  Not only was he funny, but his routines also had a theme… a subtle message that he would interweave throughout his jokes to get across to the audience.

Over the last few years he’s been less subtle and more “in-your-face” with his messages on personal responsibility.  Along the way, he’s ruffled a few feathers.  But that hasn’t stopped him from speaking the truth.

Bill Cosby also said… “I don’t know the definition of success but the definition of failure is trying to please everybody.”

Now I REALLY like that message.  This is great message for any entrepreneur striving to be successful in any business venture.  Are you in MLM, Network Marketing, or Direct Sales and looking to improve?  Well I strongly suggest you listen and take Bill’s advice to heart.

If it’s your mission to be liked by everybody, boy ‘o boy are you in for a rude awakening.

Even the most well-liked people have their detractors.  Along the way, you’re likely to encounter people who may try to throw you off track or “steal your dreams.”

We’re all different with different personalities and interests.  Actually if you’re not ruffling a few feathers along the way, then you’re not doing something right. You see…people will get a little uncomfortable when you do the right things and make a difference.

You can give tough love advice and also be respectful, kind and considerate in dealing with people.  In the process, you can strengthen your relationships with other by always being a person of character, honesty and high ethnical standards. 

When you maintain such a high code of conduct, you may not be at the top of every friend list, but you will be respected by those who know you the best.

At the end of the day… self-respect will mean far more than being popular.

It’s also makes good business sense.
