“Sell” Doesn’t Have To Be A Four Letter Word!

My response to that statement may surprise you. You don’t like selling, that’s great . . . because people don’t like to be sold.
Now, don’t misunderstand me here. People do like to buy . . . they just simply don’t want to feel like they’re pressured into buying something. If you understand this concept, then you understand the difference between Sales and Marketing. The difference will make you . . . or break you.
Here’s a secret that will make you a lot of money - if you apply it. “You can’t convince people to want or buy your products or services — you simply let them know that you have what they already want”
So many people mistakenly believe that marketing is all about convincing people to buy particular products and services. Because of this myth they go down the wrong path and devote their limited time and money to marketing that actually ‘repels’ prospective customers.
That’s the exact opposite of what they want. But as long as they continue to try to convince people to buy their products or services, they will continue to produce disappointing results.
True sales is about sharing information. It’s about finding out what the other person needs and then meeting that need. It’s about creating a win-win situation for everyone.
People buy things they want.
Marketing is NOT about convincing people to buy your products or services. It’s about helping people get what they already want.
Just share the information!
Just listen and offer information. If someone acts on that information and buys your product or service, GREAT! You have met a need and delivered value.
Why do you think they call it Network Marketing not Network Selling
Do you need sales experience? No. You already have plenty. Who is the best person to market a product or service – a satisfied customer? There’s a difference between word-of-mouth advertising and sales. Every day we tell others of good experiences we have with a product, a service, or a movie. If you ask is that sales – I’ll say not.
Communications is something you learn not something you’re born with. Yet it makes you or breaks you in life. The only way around it is to hire or sponsor someone that has the communications skills you don’t.
I hate selling. That’s why I’m successful.
Talk less to more people. Don’t try to convince something to do something and you’ll go a long way.
Oh, and along the way… you’ll get paid!
