Nest EggIn J. Paul Getty’s book “How To Get Rich“, his first rule for success is, “You must be in business for yourself, you’ll never get rich working for someone else.”

Wrapping your financial future around a personal business gives you an advantage over the masses.

Did you know…

  • The most common trait among millionaires is that they started their own business.
  • Business owners people are four times more likely to be millionaires than those who work for others.
  • Most Millionaires are self-employed.  75% of today’s wealthiest people own their own business.  They don’t worry about downsizing!
  • Contrary to what many have been lead to believe, most millionaires are not born wealthy, neither do most have high-level, glamorous jobs.  Their wealth is the result of hard work, perseverance, planning and most of all, self-discipline.

Want to get ahead, start a business; Want to get by, get a job.

Growing up, I was always taught that if you worked hard, you would be successful.  Well I have a question:  If hard work can make you rich, why aren’t all of the “hard-working” people rich?

Well the answer lies in the fact that most people regularly give their money to other people so that they can become wealthy, while the rest live paycheck to paycheck.

There are three main money earning situations today.

  1. Work for someone else
  2. Be a professional
  3. Own your own business

With 1 and 2, you get an education and trade your expertise for money.  In other words – trade time for dollars.  The main problem here is that there’s a direct relationship between input and output.

In other words, to make more money, you have to work more hours.  This is not a good position to be in.  So much for quality of life.

This is the biggest mistake people make today.  Do you want to be part of this group?  You very well may make the money, but at what sacrifice…

  • Time with family.  You never see them because you’re always working.
  • You’re exhausted.
  • Your sacrifice your health.
  • You’re too busy to enjoy life.

Eventually you’ll see that you’re not going to get ahead and have any kind of life working for others.

With 1 and 2, it’s just as bad being married to a job – no life outside of work.

You may be saying…

  • “I don’t know about this. Sounds too complicated.” It’s much easier than you think.
  • “I’ve failed before, it’s too risky.” Talk about risk . . . staying on the same course . . . now that’s risky.
  • “Sounds great Wayne, but I don’t have any money to get started”  You probably do, but just don’t know it. It’s right under your nose. Do you or your spouse have W-2 income? If yes, then Uncle Sam will fund your business start-up.

Well, let me ask you this - what are your options?  If you continue what you’re doing, you’ll be in the same situation, no actually worse, down the road than you are now?

You can start a business either part-time or full time.  For most people, part-time is the way to start.  If you have a job, transition into your business. When you get it up and running, then go full-time.

Do you have what it takes to start a business?  There’s a great chance you do.  The last thing in the world you need to do is NOT start a business if it IS for you.

What does it take to succeed?   80 – 90 % is desire.  It’s takes a little skill and talent – but mostly desire.

“When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it.” Jim Rohn

You’ll also need a mentor.  That’s where I come in.  Don’t try this alone.  Most successful people have a coach.  Even Tiger Woods has a coach.

Does this mean that if you start your own business you’ll have a guarantee of making it big?  No. but I doubt you’ll have a chance at financial success if you don’t.

Who Can Benefit From Starting a Business?

  • Dads who just want to be able to spend some quality time with their children as they grow up.
  • Working Moms who would give almost anything to be able to stay home with their children.
  • Families being torn apart by financial stress.
  • Those who are fearful of being outsourced, downsized or forced into early retirement before they can afford it.
  • Professionals who are ‘burned out’ or tired of the sacrifices necessary for success.
  • Senior Citizens who only need a modest additional income to be able to retire with dignity.
  • Anyone who is not satisfied with their current financial situation and are willing to work to improve it.
  • People who would enjoy more Freedom in their life.

 Next Step?  It’s Your Move.

To Your Success…
